1st Day

Wow! What a long flight. It seemed like it would never end. It was 14 hours to Seoul and then another 5.5 hours to Vietnam. We didn't get in until close to 11pm. The heat really beats you down the minute you walk out of the airport. I guess in Vietnam, there is no such thing as Winter. We didn't get into bed until around 2am. Around 3am, we were woken to the sound of farm animals. Most notibably, chickens and pigs. We could here them squeel as they were selected for the day's slaughter. When stopped squeeling, then the church bells rang. The bells would then stop and the pigs would start up again. What an aweful night. Anny is no longer allowed to say my home town, Long Xuyen, is the "country".

We decided to bypass the typical taxi service and rented scooters with drivers for the day. The cost was $10 each but well worth it. They took us around the city to the markets and area sites and waited for us while we shopped. A taxi would have probabaly cost more and not been nearly as fun. We have some awesome pictures of us on Saigon's roads. None of us died, in case you were wondering.

We leave for Thailand tomorrow morning. There are 3 things we must do while in Thailand:
1. See an actual kick boxing match
2. Eat the bugs from the cart we saw on the street last time
3. See the "heavy" sex show with animals and tricks (I'll leave the rest to your imagination)

So far, we have not ingested any strange creatures. I'm hoping to change that. Did I tell you how hot and humid it is here?
